3/19 - Emergency Community Mtg to Respond to Corporate Attack on Democracy & Workers' Rights!

**Please forward widely!**

Saturday, March 19 from 2:00-6:00pm at the Labor Temple (840 E Street, Eureka)

Protests and rallies are being held across the country in response to recent corporate-sponsored attacks on democracy and working people in Madison, WI and across the nation. Austerity measures and anti-worker legislation is currently being proposed in dozens of states, including California.

Democracy Unlimited and others are organizing an Emergency Community Meeting on Saturday, March 19 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Labor Temple, 840 E St., in Eureka to discuss and determine how to respond locally in Humboldt.

Sunday, March 20, 10am-5pm at the Labor Temple in Eureka (840 E Street, Eureka)

The next day they are also hosting an Artful Action Workshop lead by the Backbone Campaign of Seattle to provide training to put those ideas and strategy into creative action.

In the fight for social justice, there are more ways to speak loudly than using just your voice.  The Backbone Campaign provides training in the creative uses of ridicule, ritual, humor and song to spread your message and mobilize your community.

The Backbone Campaign has been responsible for creating many of the large puppets, banner drops and other artistic spectacle at mass rallies and protests over the last several years.
