Expecting A Bumper Crop ... Need More Farmers! (guest post)

Until recently, I haven't felt much more than ambivalence toward Harry Reid, the current Senate Majority Leader. I guess that I even felt a bit sorry for him for having to deal, on a day-to-day basis, with the perverted Party Of No. If I had to continually work around liars that purposely existed in a state of "NO," I'd certainly become discouraged and make it a point to avoid them at all costs. So, just for his diligence to duty and patience I recently began to give him a few points. And now, with Harry having a serious political challenge thrust upon him by a throughly deranged woman -- who has obviously drank too much of the tea that a corporate sponsored quasi-party is serving up to the ill-informed -- I've finally developed a case of full-blown sympathy for him. In fact, I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that he may actually be one of those rare politicians who actually DOES have the public interest at heart and is sincerely trying to do the right thing for people and NOT corporations. Otherwise, why would the Republicans be so adamantly opposing him?

Recently, I've come to understand that Harry has been quietly and tentatively discussing various options, should the Democrats maintain or even expand control of the Senate in the November elections. One of the rules that he is considering eliminating, with a new Senate, would be the rule that allows the Senate numbing filibuster. So, let me condense and repeat that thought. If the Democrats can keep or expand control of The Senate, then we could eliminate the legislatively paralyzing filibustering process!

Insert THIS picture into your head -- impotent Republicans sitting around in the Senate yelling "No" at every vote, while being completely ignored, as the newly elected Liberal and Progressive Democrats go about earnestly cleaning up our MANY and complex, nasty messes -- like employment, corporate personhood, restoration of our Constitutional and Civil Rights, the wars, the secretive Federal Reserve and banking systems, bloated government, reclaiming honesty in our media, the environment, sustainable energy, addressing/prosecuting the Constitutional crimes of the previous administration, immigration reform, rebuilding our infrastructure, "holding Obama's (and his right-wing henchmen's) smelly feet to the fires," our voting process, revising our drug laws, education, restoring the Middle Class, GM foods, etc., etc., and etc.! Indeed, the list of positive, healthy, long neglected and critical repair and vital growth issues with their solutions is way too long and far beyond the basic concepts of this meager message. Oh yeah, we shouldn't forget that SOMETHING also needs to be done TO The Supreme Court, as well:

Soooo, what is it going to take to turn this Democratic wet dream into a reality? Well, I believe that the initial, and ongoing, objective should be to install a new mindset into the voting public's thinking. Look at it as an evolving meme that can be promoted as some form of POSITIVE propaganda, for a change. Recent polls indicate that the Democrats and Independents are rather ambivalent to barely positive about our current Democratic Congress and administration, and rightly so. However, there is little ambivalence about the public's strong negative opinion of the Republicans ... also, rightly so. To me, these factors should be viewed as an opening, a workable crack in the existing, polluted, political stagnation, a door to possibilities, a viable challenge -- IOWs, a VERY valid opportunity just begging for some positive action.

Harvesting a bumper crop of an election, requires not only planting a new mindset but also the dedicated effort of a lot of patriotic and caring farm hands. It involves a unified, coordinated, consistent and widely dispersed, educational framing of that mindset and, besides all of the focused labor, it takes money to buy the seeds. So, to grow an election we need to take some money, gather the workers, organize/educate and widely distribute a unified mindset among them and then make sure that everyone gets out and votes.

We should spend NO time sitting around moping about the futility of it all. We should waste NO time on nonproductive confrontations with brain-washed and misdirected right-wing miscreants who, sadly, have been mentally polluted by their brain killing tea and lying media; we will either lead these poor, misinformed souls by example, or just leave them alone, to deal with their own insanity.

We should, as succinctly as possible, educate and encourage others of open and like mind to simply make it a point to vote in these critical November elections.

Visualize massive numbers of voters (Keep in mind that there are many more of "us" than "them."), turning out in droves to remove the corrupting Republicans and Blue Dogs from their unwarranted, abused, most likely illegally achieved and distorted positions of power. Perhaps the picture of a Democratic Bumper Crop is slowly coming into focus! Close your eyes, or at least squint a bit. Take some deep, refreshing breaths. Okay, go over the scenario again -- organizing, some money, much work, lots of discussions, door-to-door mini seminars ... but wait a minute, something isn't quite right! What about all of this "talk" about -- STOLEN VOTES?!

Well, everyone that has been paying the smallest amount of attention knows that when the corporations took away our paper ballots (as well as The League Of Women Voters mission to monitor them) and then turned the essence of democracy, our precious voting process, over to THEIR readily manipulated electronic voting systems -- we, the voting public, lost control of our invaluable elections. Somewhat unnoticed and generally ignored by the MSM, our ballots became meaningless! They morphed into a facade designed to placate and give us the illusion of a democratic society. Even though everyone knows it, nobody with any power to correct this affront to our liberty has, or will, do anything to correct it. The Republicans are quite happy with their criminally evolving system -- as it works pretty well, for them. The Democrats are afraid to even bring up the subject, much less address it, because they are of the opinion that it will create distrust in the minds of the voters and thus suppress their vital voter turnout.

So what are our patriotic Mindset Farmers to do? Well, here is the solution -- vote AbsenTee (Yeah, VOTE AT!)! It seems that it is time for our first (and hopefully last) Electronic Voter Strike! Simply put, let's have an old-fashioned paper ballot election where, this time, everyone just stays home and smails their vote in. Additionally, besides not having to worry about taking off from work and standing in line, it would be very Green -- with fewer fuel-guzzling vehicles hauling ourselves to the polls, and back. Problem at least addressed and perhaps even solved -- at least until we take back the controls and can create a more permanent fix.

I've just taken some points of reality, mixed them into an imagined concept, addressed a few objections and now come to the next question -- How can this political fantasy be expanded into a bumper crop of reality? Well, I've posted this article, along with it's embedded links, to a website (http://www.cloudbyte.com/vote.html). If you like what I've presented here and are at least minimally interested in doing something to save the/your world, then take a few moments "pass this along" (Use Copy & Paste into a New document -- don't just hit the Forward button. Also, in order to thwart hackers and minimize Spam, place all group addresses in the Bcc: field and NOT in the To: or Cc: fields!) to as many voter challenged folks as you can -- and don't forget to encourage them to do the same; let's go viral ... exponentially exploding would be sweet!

It will be SO thrilling to harvest an enormous bumper crop of healthy voters -- while pulling out by their roots the residue of thorny Republican and wimpy Blue Dog weeds that have been SUCH a blight on our farmland ... for WAY too long!
